The holidays are over and it’s time to take care of ourselves. Make 2023 the year you will prioritize your health and mental well-being. Here are little steps that you can take to get back on your healthy eating after the holidays. It might be a challenge or difficult to get back to your healthy habits, but you get there one step at a time. This is the time of the year that we make goals and resolutions, and we sometimes don’t keep them, but let this be the year that you keep all your goals and resolution.

1. Evaluation your health habits: What healthy habits can you adopt and discard in this new year? What is your healthy eating goal for this year and how do you plan to keep it and not fall off course? Stop eating takeout and cook more at home instead. making healthy choices with regard to food. Build a better relationship with food. Time to separate yourself from processed and junk food.
2. Self-care: Take time to properly care of yourself. Take one day a week to do things that make you happy and relaxed. Take longer baths, and make delicious food whether it be breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Avoid anything that will bring you stress. This is your me time and you want to try as much as possible to not let any stress come in. Take yourself shopping or a mini trip to your favorite place. I personally like to hike as a form of self-care. Detox yourself from social media for a week. Prioritizing your schedules and sticking to them.
3. Exercise: Now that the holidays are behind you with all the stress It brings is now time to get your body back to that healthy place. It was once before. it’s a new year and time to jump on that exercise goal you’ve been planning on. Take it one day at a time. You can either start working out at home or go to a gym but make it a priority to exercise once a day, whether it’s 5 minutes or 30 minutes. Exercise can certainly help you with your mental health and mental well-being. If you’re not comfortable, going to the gym right away, they are setting exercises that you can do in the morning at home to jumpstart your day and release the stress and find your center.
4. Find a new hobby: What do you like to do with your time? What are some of the things that you would like to try that you haven’t in the past now is the time to try those things. What is your interest in this new year? It is time to prioritize your hobby and your interest. Do you have a favorite book that you’ve been wanting to read for a long time now is the time to pick it up and spend at least an hour a day reading 2 to 3 chapters. Do you like to take mini trips or maybe it’s time to explore the town or state you live in. Do you love the great outdoors? There are many places to hike, and parks to walk or run.
5. What is your relationship with sleep? It is highly important to sleep regularly. What time do you go to sleep and how much sleep do you get every day? What can you do to better your sleep pattern? Studies recommend having 8 hours of sleep. You don’t necessarily have to get that eight hours, but you can strive for it. Sleep helps to soothe your mind and relax you.
